Vilnius to Verkiai Regional Park Cycling Route
The tour starts in central Vilnius and follows the scenic Neris River cycling path, gradually leaving the city behind. Along the way, you’ll pass important cultural and spiritual landmarks, including the peaceful Trinapolis Monastery and the historic Vilnius Calvary — a unique 17th-century pilgrimage site with a scenic Way of the Cross spread across hills and chapels.
The route then leads into Verkiai Regional Park, one of the largest and most scenic green areas in Vilnius. Rolling hills, historic manor landscapes, and dense forests create a peaceful escape just minutes from the city center. A highlight of the tour is a visit to Verkiai Manor Park, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views over the Neris River from one of the most impressive viewpoints in Vilnius.
From the manor park, the route continues along quiet forest trails toward the Green Lakes (Žalieji ežerai). You’ll visit Balsiai Lake, the largest and most popular of the Green Lakes, featuring a sandy beach and clear water — one of the best swimming and relaxation spots in Vilnius during the warm season.
On the way back to the city, you’ll cycle through recently renovated recreational areas with ponds and green spaces, highlighting modern, sustainable urban development in Vilnius.
